Perspectives encourages studies of any type of interlingual transmission (translation, interpreting, subtitling etc.). Contributions are general and systematic studies of interlingual transmissions, and the emphasis lies on analyses of authentic translation work, translation practices, procedures, and strategies. Based on real-life examples, studies in the journal place their findings in an international perspective from a practical, theoretical or pedagogical angle in order to address important issues in the craft, the methods, and the results of translation studies all over the world.
To be able to contribute to focused discussions, articles are arranged in groups regarding specific topics in each issue, or, more often, the journal has special issues focusing on specific topics, geographical areas and the like.
The language of publication is English. The issues discussed, however, involve all languages and language pairs. Quotations in languages other than English are mediated and translated.
