Summary: The text of the Exempla diuersorum auctorum, a ninth-century metrical florilegium
preserved in two manuscripts, has been in the public domain for nearly 140 years.
Nonetheless, nine verses recorded in this collection (most found only in the fuller manuscript,
the Exempla Vaticana) have not yet been formally identified. This article restores
these verses to their original authors as far as was possible.
